When holidays are over, you’re back in town and have to get ready to go to work, finding the right outfit for high summer is undoubtedly complicated. Looking chic and pulled together in the city with this heatwave is difficult, even when meeting friends for lunch. You probably feel like going around in kaftans and skimpy little dresses all day, but you know your beachwear is not the best outfit option to go to the office, visit exhibitions or run errands. You need to keep fresh, but want to look stylish, don’t you? Although you might think this is an impossible mission, we’re here to prove you wrong and help you out 😉
We’ve been scouring the internet, looking at every possible iteration to find inspiration, and here are the five perfect dresses for super-hot days, that you can totally wear at the beach but also in town:
This New York-based brand makes super feminine vintage-inspired dresses that seem out of the idyllic British countryside. The Creative Director, Rebecca Hessel Cohen, designs romantic and flattering pieces that look wonderful with espadrilles or strappy sandals. Pair your Hannah dress with chunky Teva sandals for a cool look. Princess Olympia of Greece, the model Lady Amelia Windsor and fashion blogger and influencer Lucy Williams are some of the stylish women who wear LoveShackFancy.
The American Mara Hoffman launched her eponymous label in 2000, after graduating from the Parsons School of Design. Since 2016, the designer focuses on sustainable materials like natural, recycled, organic fabrics, and low-impact production for her effortless chic collections. The tie-front Floral-print maxi dress is made in organic cotton voile, super fresh and we love the puffy sleeves that give the romantic dress a contemporary twist. This dress is part of the Net Sustain collection, the new sustainable branch of Net-A-Porter.
Faithful The Brand
We love the midi floral dresses that the Bali-based brand makes; they have a chic French-girl vibe and are a perfect choice for a hot day in town. All Faithful The Brand garments are designed, sourced and made in Bali, Indonesia, using hand-printing and hand-dying techniques. We chose the Marta Floral Dress because wrap-dresses are perfect for those who’d like to hide a bit of tummy. The asymmetric buttons bring a modern touch to this simple-chic Parisian style dress.
Jane Munro-Altinok and Jose Stemkens-Welliver launched this label inspired in by their love of maxi-dresses. The brand’s creations are chic and so versatile you can wear them from the office to a party. The cool KaDeWe in Berlin is one of the Eywasoul’s eight stockists in Europe. We spotted the „Suits“ actress Gina Torres and Liliane Jossua, the founder of Montaigne Market in Paris and St Barth, wearing the bohemian-chic label on Instagram. We selected the Cora Dress because the cut is super flattering and feminine. All models are made in three different materials; cotton voile, chiffon or silk, and all prints look different on each fabric, making them almost unique. Good quality materials make these dresses look chic and city-appropriate.
Mango is a big favourite when it comes to high-street shopping, their dresses are affordable and trendy. We love this flirty green floral dress that you can pair with white sneakers or flat sandals. Prairie dresses are super on-trend and this Mango dress has a beautiful vintage-style print that is ideal to take you to the office or out for drinks with your friends.
